Mozart celebrations

by isleofman.com 12th May 2006
The Isle of Man Symphony Orchestra is to perform twice this weekend to mark the 150th anniversary of Mozart’s birthday.

Tonight (Friday) at Ballakermeen School and Saturday at Ramsey Grammar School, the orchestra will play some of the composer’s music.

Conductor Maurice Powell says he’s looking forward to the concerts, and says the programme is one of the best the orchestra has ever played.

He explained the idea is to celebrate Mozart’s genius.
