Still suspended

A School Crossing Patrol officer remains suspended from duty despite plans to put traffic lights at his former crossing.

The Department of Transport made the suspension after Michael Hunt refused to stop crossing schoolchildren on the Glen Darragh Road in Marown- which is not a designated crossing point.

On Thursday it was announced a traffic lights scheme would be installed in area after many parties expressed major safety worries.

Mr Hunt says he is keen to get back to work again.

He also says he regrets getting the Manx and UK media involved, but he didn't feel he was getting anywhere:
