Mother makes plea for help

The mother of a child who attends the soon-to-be closed special needs unit at Jurby School has made an impassioned plea for help.

Lynda Stokes called yesterday's Mannin Line to ask people to support her campaign to keep it open.

The Department of Education say the closure is as a result of lower demands for special education.

But Mrs Stokes says it's not fair to make the children move to other schools and is concerned about the distress it will cause her son, Jamie:
