Man sentenced to 5 years for drugs offences

by isleofman.com 15th May 2006
A man who claimed he was 'on his way to the police station' with a stash of 900 ecstasy tablets, has been jailed for five years.

20 year old Spencer Elliot Bell of Ballacallister Road in Laxey was stopped by officers on Castlemona Avenue in June 2004.

Bell told them he had found the tablets in his car and was on his way to hand them in.

A jury found him guilty of possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

His advocate said Bell was young at the time, and was sorry for the trauma he had caused his family.
