Strix closure is boost for Ramsey

by isleofman.com 15th May 2006
Treasury Minister Allan Bell says he hopes the Strix factory closure in Malew will give an economic boost to Ramsey.

He says although he’s sorry the Ronaldsway plant is closing, he’s hopeful some good can be salvaged from the situation with more jobs moving to his constituency.

The Ronaldsway factory is due to close, and 65 jobs will be transferred to the Ramsey site – the last remaining Strix manufacturing site in the Island.

Mr Bell (pictured) says he’s hopeful despite competition from the Far East, the company can still prosper after this restructuring.
