National Veteran's Day

UK Chancellor Gordon Brown has made calls for a 'Britishness Day' to mark the National Veteran's Day on June 27th.

Mr Brown says young people need to be taught about war and national service and should record the memories of veterans for a special archive.

Chairman of the Isle of Man War Pensions Commission Brigadier Norman Butler (pictured) says whilst the idea is a good one, there's very little time to organise any proper commemoration on the Island this year:
