House fire inquest resumes

by isleofman.com 15th May 2006
Further evidence was heard today about the death of a Port Erin woman in a house fire.

When the inquest opened in January the coroner heard 78 year old Joan Osobel Kinvig passed away after inhaling carbon monoxide at her home on the Pony Fields estate.

Evidence showed Mrs Kinvig suffered asphyxia, but it was revealed tests were continuing and the case was adjourned.

Mrs Kinvig was found dead at her home on the day of the fire, January 27.

The identification process involved Manx police sending a photograph of her to the Thames Valley force, after they traced her god-daughter to a village in Buckinghamshire.
