Actress supporting Alzheimer's Society

The slow and painful death of Coronation Street character Mike Baldwin from Alzheimer's Disease, was watched on TV by millions.

The storyline portrayed the agonising nature of the condition for both the victim and their loved ones.

Pauline Fleming played Mike Baldin's wife in the soap Penny King - and tonight she addressed the Annual General Meeting of the Isle of Man's Alzheimer's Society.

Chairman Chris Jagus says all the cast were affected by the story - and Mike's screen wife wanted to help raise the profile of the condition:
