Care debate delayed

by isleofman.com 16th May 2006
The Everall report into the care of young children will not be debated in Tynwald until June or July.

Chief Minister Donald Gelling has withdrawn the motion for debate at this week’s sitting following comments made during question time.

Several members expressed concern there had not been sufficient time to examine the 430 page document.

Mr Gelling said the report will come back to Tynwald, together with the responses of the Council of Ministers to its 130 recommendations.
