A 21 year old woman has been given a four month prison sentence coupled with a two year supervision order, suspended for two years by the High Bailiff.
Louise Gelling, of Mona Drive, Douglas, appeared for sentence after admitting assaulting a police officer and being disorderly on licensed premises.

Her advocate Aalish Hannan said the defendant had a row with her now ex-boyfriend in a public house and when police attended she lashed out at the officer. Her action was described as reckless, not deliberate, and she had apologised to the police officer concerned.
Mr Moyle told Gelling she was getting an appalling record, but he was going to give her one final chance. He did not activate a suspended sentence imposed last year but he ordered that the suspension should run concurrently with the new two year suspension and the sentence of four months will run consecutively to the new four month sentence.
Gelling must also not enter on-licence premises, purchase or be sold alcohol, and she was ordered to pay ?250 to the police officer.
