A man who admitted possessing cannabis resin and was drunk and disorderly has been fined a total of ?500 by the High Bailiff.

19 year old Alexander William Betham of Bride Road, Ramsey, started to kick a wheelie bin after leaving Nightlife in Ramsey at 2.45 am on April 23rd.

Police who saw the incident followed Betham to College Street car-park where they witnessed him putting something behind an electricity junction box.

Police found a piece of cannabis resin there which weighed 8.1 grammes.

His advocate said the defendant accepted he was drunk, he did not recall kicking over the bin or buying the drug, but he had it for his own use.

Betham blamed splitting up with his girlfriend for his behaviour.
