Tynwald approve branding image

by isleofman.com 17th May 2006
A new phrase fashioned by consultants and an age-old image are together to become new defining symbols of the Isle of Man to a new generation.

Tynwald has today voted to support the mission to "brand" the Isle of Man with the slogan "Freedom to Flourish", combined with the ancient three legs of Man.

After a four hour debate, there was a clear majority in favour of the move, among members of the House of Keys and Legislative Council.

But Chief Minister Donald Gelling has promised the project will move forward using existing budgets - and will receive no more additional tax payers money.
