Traffic lights for Quarterbridge?

Tackling the Quarterbridge junction in Douglas is a daily challenge for thousands of drivers - and for some it is a nightmare they go out of their way to avoid.

But according to Peel MHK Hazel Hannan, the intersection works to give those on certain journeys a priority - despite heavy traffic on all approaches.

Mrs Hannan believes drivers from the west of the Island are getting a raw deal - and she believes traffic lights would solve the problem.

Mrs Hannan raised the issue in Tynwald this week.

She denies suggestions lights would in fact slow things down even more:
