Compensation culture controls considered

Rushen MHK Quintin Gill says a new compensation law to be considered by Tynwald could help stem the growing culture of lititgation.

During yesterday’s sitting, the report of a select committee looking into Health and Safety legislation chaired by Mr Gill was considered.

After a vote, members decided not to set up a new Health and Safety Inspectorate as recommended.

But there will be a new Compensation Bill, which Mr Gill (pictured) says will rule out no-win, no-fee court cases:
