Coastguard's advice to dog owners

Dog owners are being told they must ignore their natural instincts and call the experts when their dogs get into difficulties in coastal areas.

After a number of incidents in recent weeks, Chief Coastguard Colin Finney is advising people to keep their animals on a lead when they are in potentially dangerous situations.

And on Manx Radio's "Freeboard" programme he had this advice for when problems arise:
