Residents thanked for input into planning battle

by isleofman.com 20th May 2006
Residents of Farmhill and Saddlestone who are opposing plans for a 21-home development in the area have been thanked for their work so far.

The 200-strong group’s campaign has led to developer Heritage Homes being told to stop carrying out clearing work on the site it owns, for fear of damaging protected habitats.

A wildlife consultant will examine the land next week to assess if any damage has been caused.

The company has requested an appeal after its plans were turned down on environmental grounds.

Residents’ group spokesman, Bill Mularkee, says although positive news, there’s no time to be complacent.
