DoT under fire on drug tests

by isleofman.com 25th May 2006
The Department of Transport is under fire again over a lack of consultation, this time on its plans to introduce drug-driving tests.

The Road Traffic Amendment bill gives police power to test anybody involved in an accident for drugs as well as drink.

Rushen MHK Quintin Gill (pictured) says he supports the measures but wanted the DoT to ask the British Medical Association for its views.

Instead, he says just one doctor was asked his opinion.
