Laxey sealed a thrilling Isle of Man Bank Junior Cup Final to bring the curtain down on the Manx football season and the Miners’ most successful campaign in their history.
A 6-3 success over Peel at the Bowl after extra-time clinched even more silverware for the Grand Slam winners – and also ended the westerners’ hopes of a league and cup double.
Combination One champions Peel, whose goals were scored by Neil Birchenough, Scott Mylchreest and Mark Crennell, had led three times during normal time.
But goals from Carl Barks and man of the match Jason Price (two) forced extra-time, where the Miners ran out clear winners through Mark Kelly and a Lee Cowley double.
A fitting end to a superb season for Manx football’s new dominant force.
