Lucky 13th triumph for Swallow on Billown Circuit

by isleofman.com 27th May 2006
Huddersfield's Bill Swallow is chasing the record for the most number of victories around the Billown Circuit.

This afternoon (Saturday) he moved a step closer by clinching his 13th victory in the first race of the pre-TT classic.

The record's held by Bob Heath with 15 wins.

Wallasey's Mike Hose finished second and Rich Hawkins was third.

Class three was won by Mervyn Stratford, with 78-year old Ted Fenwick second and Roger Birkenhead third.

There'll be more racing on the circuit on Monday.

Swallow told Chris Kinley it might be unlucky for some, but for him win number 13 was very welcome, although not as easy as it looked.
