The breeding season is well underway at the Curraghs Wildlife Park, albeit a little later than usual.
According to the park's manager, this is particularly apparent amongst the birds.
Visitors to the park can see a wide variety of young animals, from storks to wallabies.
Kate Skinner reports (audio file attached):
Earlier this month, two baby capybara were born as well as two young red-necked wallabies and a parma wallaby joey.
There are also two young mara, hare-like rodents from South America, and it's hoped that with the arrival of a new breeding male, there'll be a crop of squirrel monkeys later in the year.
As for birds, there is a coscoroba swan cynet and young white storks.
And the fruit bats, which arrived before Christmas are becoming very active both day and night.
