Minister responds to immigration question

by isleofman.com 30th May 2006
The immigration difficulties faced by the United Kingdom shouldn't necessitate a knee-jerk reaction on the Island.

So says Home Affairs Minister John Shimmin.(pictured)

He was speaking in the House of Keys this morning in response to a question from North Douglas member John Houghton, who referred to the UK's policy on immigration as "a shambles"

However, Mr Shimmin says whilst his department keeps the immigration policies and practices in the Island under constant review, the Isle of Man does depend on people coming here to work.
