Sixteen year old cyclist Colum O'Shea has won the 'Rider of the month' award introduced by Team Scottish Provident Isle of Man for the 2006 season.
The competition, which runs from April to August, is based on performances in the club's Tuesday night youth league at the NSC, although notable rides in other events may also be taken into consideration.
League organiser Dot Tilbury said 'We have all been greatly impressed with Colum's aggressive riding and willingness to "have a go". He has enlivened many a race this year and is a worthy winner of the award for April'.
Colum and all the other winners will receive a gold cup and ?25 in cash.
