McGuinness produces fastest lap

by isleofman.com 31st May 2006
John McGuinness has set the fastest lap of TT practising so far.

The Morecombe man completed his second practice lap on Tuesday night in 18.04 minutes, a speed of 125.267.

But he says he didn't push as hard as he could have done:

Earlier the fastest Newcomer, Ramsey's Connor Cummins, put in an even quicker lap at 113.4.

Adrian Archibald was hoping to get a couple of good laps in but he was black flagged, carried on and was then forced to stop in Ramsey.

Ian Lougher produced the quickest lap of the Supersport's on his Honda, and Ramsey's Jason Griffiths was the fastest on a Superstock bike.

The sidecar session was predictably topped by Dave Molyneux and Craig Hallam.

Just outside the record, they did one lap in 19.42.69 minutes, a speed of 114.847 miles an hour.
