Island aid for Indonesia
The Isle of Man government is donating ?30,000 to the relief effort in Indonesia, following a devastating earthquake on Saturday morning.

The city of Yogyakarta, on the island of Java, was badly hit, leaving around 6000 people dead, 20,000 injured and up to 200,000 homeless.

The donation has been made through the British Red Cross by the Overseas Aid Committee of the Council of Ministers.

Committee Chairman George Waft MLC says the committee unanimously agreed to make the contribution and hopes it will help those affected by the tragedy.
