300 Tetra radios in use

by isleofman.com 31st May 2006
Communication at any event is the key to success, and the TETRA Radio system has certainly been proving its worth at the TT.

There are nearly 300 hand-held radios in use by organisers, marshals and the rescue helicopter.

The secure digital system, which is also used by the emergency services, means any incident can be dealt with fast and efficiently.

Deputy Clerk of the Course, Martin Blackburn, says in the past radio systems have had to battle against the Island's hilly terrain.
