Cleator sentence adjourned

Sentence on a 22 year old man has been adjourned by the High Bailiff for reports.

David Lee Cleator of Ormley Grove, Ramsey admitted being drunk in charge of a van, obstructing a drugs search and possessing cannabis resin.

Sergeant John Manley said police saw the van parked at 12.40am on Bride Road, Ramsey.

The engine was running and the lights were on. They saw the defendant get out of the van. He was unsteady on his feet and was detained for a drugs search, but broke away and ran off.

He was caught and subsequently arrested. Four grammes of cannabis resin was found in the van. Cleator provided samples as police headquarters which showed a blood alcohol reading of 92 milligrammes, the legal limit is 80 mg

He was bailed until June 27th with a condition not to drive.
