Campsite dangers avoidable

Campers are being warned about the dangers of cooking inside tents.

The warning comes after a man camping at Sulby Claddaghs had to be taken to Hospital with burns to his hands and arms after his tent caught fire and was totally destroyed.

The incident happened around 1.30 this morning (Thurs).

Station Officer Tony Varley says food should never be cooked inside small tents, and gas cylinders and flammable liquids should be stored outside:
