LIfeboat launched

Douglas Lifeboat was launched yesterday evening to go to the assistance of a 4.2 metre rigid inflatable boat or rib which had suffered electrical problems.

The call out came at just after 8 pm when the vessel was around 5 miles off Douglas.

A Douglas Coastguard mobile unit was despatched to keep the vessel under observation.

The rib, which had four people on board, was towed to safety in Douglas.
