Sailing for Disabled Award

Ballasalla's Sailing for the Disabled group is to recieve The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

The objective of the awards is to honour the unsung heroes in society, who regulary devote their own time to providing an outstanding level of help to other people.

Ed Miliband, Minister for the third Sector, said,"these groups show us how much can be achieved when people join together to make a difference."

As the awards are nominated by the public, entries for 2006/2007 awards are now open, and will remain open until 30th September 2006.
