No vacancies

T.T. 2006 well underway and the 'No Vacancy' signs are up.

In addition to hotels and guest houses, hundreds of Manx householders are letting rooms as part of the Homestay scheme.

It operates to cater for the overflow of tourists for the TT period.

Homestay can be offered for any number of nights between May the 27th and June the 11th, although newly registering homes have to be inspected by department officers before being accepted on the scheme.

It's too late to register for this year, but with big things planned for the centenary in 2007, Tourism Minister David Cretney says they need as many bed spaces as possible:
