No parking meters planned

A member of the Department of Transport, is denying that a clause in the road traffic amendment bill could lead to the introduction of parking meters in the Isle of Man.

Malew and Santon MHK, Captain Andrew Douglas says the clause, which would allow the department to charge for parking on highways, is merely to cover a loophole.

Fines already exist for such offences as illegal parking and failure to display a parking disc:
