Castletown standing orders under review

by isleofman.com 7th June 2006
It’s time to review standing orders in Castletown.

Commissioners have agreed to arrange a special meeting where they will assess specific orders and discuss the need to amend and bring them up-to-date.

At this week’s meeting, chairman Tony Mansell moved standing orders be amended to ensure the board’s vice-chairman automatically becomes chairman after his or her year in office.

He also believes no member should become vice-chairman before they have served one full year on the board.

Although he had the backing of the board to discuss the issue next month, Mr Mansell withdrew the motion so the board can discuss a number of points relating to standing orders at a meeting to be arranged.
