Former workers attack care provider

by isleofman.com 9th June 2006
There’s more negative criticism of an Island care provider this morning.

Two former care workers have launched an attack on St Christopher's Fellowship.

Both men, who used to work for the company before being suspended and, subsequently, sacked for alleged breaches of contract, are concerned at the way the provider is operating.

One of the men, who does not wish to be named, says even staff are uneasy: (audio clip)

St. Christopher’s has issued a statement which says it believes it provides quality services which are very relevant to the needs of vulnerable young people on the Isle of Man, and works closely with the DHSS to this end.

It adds it’s unable to comment on the particular circumstances that led to the dismissal, on the grounds of misconduct, of the two former members of staff and will present its substantial evidence on these matters in an employment tribunal.
