Good result at Northern Counties Golf Championship

The Isle of Man put up one of is best-ever off-Island performances in the Northern Counties Championship at Pleasington Golf Club.

The youngest ever Manx team to compete finished in sixth position with a score of 919, in an extremely competitive event involving seven other counties.

Rounds of 70 from Paul Lowey and 69 from Kevin Moore were the lowest of the day. For Kevin it won him the prize for the best 2nd round.

The other team members were Richard Skillicorn, Dave Sutton, Mark Sutton and Peter Moore.

Team captain Gary Ashe said he was delighted at their performance.
