Cheshire police report

by isleofman.com 13th June 2006
There is to be a special sitting of the House of Keys to debate the Cheshire Police Committee report

Members approved an amendment from Onchan MHK Adrian Earnshaw to adjourn the debate until later this month.

Because many members had only received the committee report within the past few days it was felt the subject was too important to rush through.

Michael MHK David Cannan said the issues raised tested the credibility of parliament because serious breaches of conduct had taken place.

The only vocal dissenter was Brenda Cannnell who said she read the report from cover to cover last night and accused the men in the House of Keys of watching football.

The speaker has indicated the special sitting will take place on the 28th of June.
