Officials blasted over Hutchinson disqualification

by isleofman.com 15th June 2006
The man behind the engine that saw TT star Ian Hutchinson disqualified from second place in this year’s Superstock race says he’s devastated with the decision.

Tony Scott ground the camshaft on the bike – but not quite enough, leading to scrutineers declaring the machine illegal.

He says the cam was technically outside the rules - but by the smallest possible margin – and he’s amazed officials decided to strip Hutchinson of his podium finish.

Tony explained the error was negligible and didn’t give any advantage during the race.
