Luxury yacht calls in on Douglas

There is a spectacular visitor to Douglas today, and doubtless one we would love to get on the Manx super yacht register.

The Sojana is one of the largest sailing yachts ever built in Cowes, her registered port. She was launched in September 2003.

This ?8.7 million carbon fibre yacht, which should reach speeds of 25kts in the right conditions, was built using a pre-impregnated carbon laminate and Nomex honeycomb core, similar to the technology used in America's Cup boats.

Sojana has a 144ft main mast and mizzen mast. She’s on passage from the Caribbean to Cowes and has stopped off in Douglas,
