Kennaugh challenges for circuit race championship

by isleofman.com 16th June 2006
Young cycling star Peter Kennaugh is in action this weekend at the Men's Circuit Race Championship.

However, fellow Manx rider Mark Cavendish won't defend his title. He was due to be riding the Tour of Italy, but pulled out early in the week through illness.

It's part of the Horwich Carnival day of events, and promises to be a full on flat out race around a triangular circuit based on the roads Lee Lane, Winter Hey Lane and Chorley New Road in the town.

Great Britain rider Rob Hayles will start as favourite.
