Locals receive birthday honours

by isleofman.com 17th June 2006

Three Island residents have been honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honour list.

They all receive the MBE.

David Gawne has been honoured for his services to Crossroads caring for Carers on the Island, Una Johnson receives the award for services to the Royal Navy, and David Waterworth has been recognised for services to disabled people.

Mrs Johnson says the news came as something of a surprise to her for work she had been doing for the navy for well over forty years
