Island prepares for Walking Festival

by isleofman.com 17th June 2006
More than 120 keen ramblers will take a wander around the Isle of Man this week.

The Walking Festival gets underway tomorrow (Monday) and visitors from as far away as Boston will be greeted at the Villa Marina tonight.

The event's in its third year, and Tourism Minister David Cretney (pictured) believes the Island is an ideal location for such an event, with some of the most spectacular views and scenery you could find anywhere.

He also suggests any local residents, keen to get some last minute preparation in before the Parish Walk this Saturday, put their best foot forward as well.
