Speed limit debate to resume

Rushen MHK Quintin Gill (pictured) says it’s unacceptable for the Department of Transport to decide how it interprets its speed limit consultation after it’s had all the responses.

In Tynwald on Tuesday, he’ll ask Chief Minister Donald Gelling if there are government guidelines on how consultation exercises should be carried out.

He claims the department could do whatever it wanted - no matter what the results of the process turn out to be – because it hasn’t decided how to interpret the data.

This, he says, raises serious concerns (audio file attached)
