Planning permission appealed

by isleofman.com 19th June 2006
An appeal against planning permission for 29 flats in Princes Road in Douglas has had the development blocked.

Planning Inspector John Turner said the plans were incomplete and so permission couldn’t be granted:

(Text of attached audio)
Spreadway Ltd has applied for permission to build two apartment blocks with basement parking and landscaping on land between Victoria Road, Princes Road and Marathon Road.

But when people living around the proposed site objected, the inspector hearing the appeal said he had found an anomaly in the plans.

A plan which should have been submitted by the developer had not been put in with the application, and Mr Turner said the original decision was null and void because the application was incomplete.

DoLGE Minister John Rimington allowed the appeal, but said turning down this proposal didn’t prejudice any future applications.
