Buxton and Faragher Win Tennis Titles

Karen Faragher has won her 14th Isle of Man Closed Senior Tennis Ladies Singles Championship.

She beat Katie Tinkler 6-1,6-1 at the Albany Club's indoor court on Sunday.

The Men's Final was much closer. James Buxton won the first set 6-3 against Ian Watson. But Ian fought back to take the next 7-5 to set-up a decider. Despite having his serve broken early, James went on to take it 6-3 and claim the title.

Other winners included:-

Ladies Doubles - Karen Faragher/Emma MacDonald beat Katie Tinkler/Elena Snidal 2-6,6-3,6-3.
Men's Doubles - Alastair Montgomerie/Les Gale - walkover after withdrawl of other finalists.
Mixed Doubles - Karen Faragher/Peter Dunworth beat Kerry Beattie/Ian Watson 6-7,6-3,6-3.
Consolation Women's Singles - Elena Snidal beat Margaret Drake 6-1,6-0.
Consolation Men's Singles - Jonathon Cork beat Daniel Heginbotham 6-2,6-7,6-3.
