Fragrant plant - but not pleasant!

People living near the Meary Veg sewage treatment plant may have to put up with foul smells for some time to come.

That admission from the Transport Minister Phil Braidwood.

Continuing problems lie with the heat treatment plant, which is still in the hands of contractors.

Instead of being turned into pellets, sludge is being ploughed into the land.

Mr Braidwood says the Department can not promise an early resolution to the problem - but the cause of the bad smells has been identified:
