A leading Manx actuary is missing, feared drowned on a yachting holiday in the Baltic. Lee Tyrer, of Little Switzerland in Douglas was with four companions, moored in their hired yacht off an Island near Stockholm. They had gone to bed at 11. One of his companions woke in the early hours and saw Mr Tyrer was missing. An extensive search by Swedish coastguards and helicopters failed to find Mr Tyrer and the search has now been called off. Mr Tyrer was a Chairman of the Manx Insurance Association and a leading member of the Onchan Rotary Club.
