Cavendish returns to win Teare Trophy Road Race

Commonwealth Gold medallist Mark Cavendish won the Teare Trophy Road Race on Sunday.

Riding for the Manx Road Club, Great Britain's under 23 star won in 2 hours and 9 minutes.

Aaron Livsey was second, Peter Gage was third, Ashley Whipp was fourth and Graeme Hatcher was fifth.

The B race was won by Chris Whorral in 1 hour and 53 minutes, and he was followed home by Matt Looker, John Marchment, Chris Lee and Dave Bell.

Meanwhile, Cayley Ennett riding for Team QCP came 34th in the women's National Road Race Championships in Yorkshire.
