Robinson jailed

by isleofman.com 26th June 2006
A Douglas man has been jailed for two years for causing the death of a teenage girl by dangerous driving.

Nineteen year-old Leigh Robinson admitted the charge against him.

Seventeen year-old student, Aalish Patterson, was a passenger in Robinson's car when it crashed at Alpine Corner near Ballaugh in May last year.

The 17 year old had been out celebrating her birthday with friends.

The court heard how Robinson had only passed his test two weeks before and was in pursuit of another vehicle shortly before the crash.

Robinson was also banned from driving for five years.
