MMC to discover if case proceeds

by isleofman.com 30th June 2006
It will be known later today (Friday) whether or not a case against the organisers of the Manx Grand Prix is due to go ahead.

The Manx Motorcycle Club is being prosecuted for allegedly failing to display a red flag on a road closure rope during last year’s event.

Last August, Tim O'Connell from Devon lost his life after colliding with the road-closed barrier near Douglas Fire Station on Peel Road.

The 66 year-old was pulled from his vintage Norton machine and died at the scene.
