Feast of music this weekend

Music lovers are in for a treat this weekend.

On Saturday evening the Douglas Buxton Musical Trust's 'Children in Song' show will be staged at the Villa Marina, involving pupils from nine different schools.

Then on Sunday night the Soldiers, Sailors and Families Association, or SSAFA, has its annual band concert, also at the Villa Marina, featuring The Band of the Kings Division.

Geoff Corkish from the Douglas Buxton Trust, says it was created in 1976 to keep the former music teacher's memory alive (audio file attached):

SAFA's Public Relations Officer, James Kewin, says the concert is free but there will be a retiring collection (audio file attached):
