South Douglas MHK David Cretney has welcomed the news proposals for the refurbishment of upper Pulrose are being actively progressed.
Mr Cretney (pictured) says he’s anxious constituents have improved living conditions and is committed to working alongside Douglas Corporation to see real progress.
He’d previously described the conditions in some of the properties as being ‘akin to ice boxes’ during winter.
Last week, chairman of Douglas Council’s public health and housing committee, Doreen Kinrade, stressed that, following the success of the Lower Pulrose re-development, it was vital to see the best solution for the upper estate within budget constraints.
The council’s to carry out further consultation with tenants of Heather and Hazel Crescent and will meet staff in government’s estates and housing division within the next month to further discuss proposals for the scheme.
